Angela Robb
Counsellor / EMDR Practitioner
Financial worries, redundancy, career change and transition are all common stressors today. Work place harassment, work related stress and conflict with employers can also impact our mental health. Juggling work with parenting or caring for ageing parents can leave us feeling overwhelmed. Other major life events that can present us with challenges to our mental wellbeing include relationship breakdown, separation and divorce, loss and bereavement, infertility, miscarriage and post natal depression and family conflict. I have personally found counselling to be hugely helpful in supporting me through my own difficult life experiences. It would be my privilege to help you with yours. I can't make your problems go away, but together we can work on making them feel more manageable.
A powerful, evidence based treatment which uses bilateral eye movements to process post trauma symptoms. Suitable for treating a wide range of traumatic experiences which often underpin anxiety and depression. Traumatic experiences are distressing events that occur outside our window of tolerance and can leave us with unhelpful reactions to present day triggers, such as panic attacks and phobias or unexplained physical sensations. EMDR can be used to treat adults, children and young people. Screening for suitability essential. Contact me to find out more.
Counselling is a form of talking therapy that provides young people with a safe and confidential space to explore their thoughts and feelings around difficult life experiences. Young people often have concerns around school, relationships, identity, self-image, loss and the future. Feeling heard and understood can alleviate anxiety and depressive symptoms, reduce the urge to self-harm and improve confidence. I have experience of a wide range of issues and offer a non-judgmental LGBT+ safe zone. I currently welcome young clients over 16.
Combining the natural healing benefits of being nature with counselling/psychotherapy, together we will walk side by side whilst talking about issues that are important for you. The benefits of walk and talk therapy include decreased anxiety, improved mood and more restful sleep. Suitable for adults and teens (age 16+) an initial intake session is required to take place indoors before starting therapy outdoors. Clients should be in good enough health to take part in gentle walking for up to an hour and must take responsibility for their personal wellbeing.
Therapy is a process that requires commitment to regular sessions. These are usually weekly 50 minute appointments but I am happy to be flexible and agree a programme that fits in with your life.
As a private practitioner I offer appointments in a comfortable, relaxed yet professional, home working environment where you can feel safe to share your concerns in a confidential setting. I currently offer counselling and EMDR therapy face to face or online using recommended video conferencing technology.
Self funding client fees are £65 per 50 minute session.
I am recognised by BUPA and Aviva as a mental health service provider and can accept private medical insurance clients, subject to your policy terms and conditions. Please check your cover and policy excess with your insurer before enquiring.

As counselling is confidential, I cannot provide you with examples of successful counselling case studies. However, you are welcome to review my qualifications, training and experience on LinkedIn and read my client testimonials. If at any time I believe that I am not the right therapist for you, I will try to sign post you to an appropriate service.
